Stephen
D. MacGregor, D.D.S.
I became interested in dentistry in childhood while
visiting my family dentist. He was a kind and caring
man who was very good with children, and I wanted
to be just like him. So, I decided in the fourth grade
to become a dentist. Later, in my third year of college
I was one of two students who were accepted one year
early to dental school. I entered dental school at
the age of 19. During dental school I set two goals.
I wanted to earn a Masters Degree in Oral Pathology
and also to have a private practice. After my two
year Oral Pathology residency, I taught Oral Medicine
and Treatment Planning at Emory University School
of Dentistry. I also was a part of the Emory Faculty
private practice. In 1992 I moved to Newport News
where I have been in private practice since. My years
on the Dental Faculty and my years in private practice
since 1977 have given me the opportunity to be a well-rounded
dentist. My philosophy is one of personal attention.
I get to know each of my patients when I clean your
teeth. I give you my time, my caring, my attention
and my education in order to give you the best care
that I can. I love my staff and they help me in my
strive for excellence.
In my private life my wife and I love to camp. I
also enjoy hiking and fishing, reading, swimming and
gardening. My wife and I have a beautiful grown daughter
Carri and two Chihuahuas. My family and I are members
of Hidenwood Presbyterian Church where I have been
a deacon and usher.
I welcome you into our family of patients. I look
forward to meeting you and helping you maintain your
teeth for a lifetime.
